| If I understand your question right then you need to sort DESC if you sort ASC and ASC if you sort DESC.

yep, but i wanna have the records in the same order as they were added to the database, not inversely ordered... something nested like
SELECT ItemID, ItemName FROM (SELECT ItemID, ItemName FROM table_items ORDER BY ItemID DESC LIMIT 10) ORDER BY ItemID ? i think it''s too complicated =)
